Mardi Gras Ball set tonight at civic center

PALESTINE — The Krewe de Couyons will hold a “Walking to New Orleans” Mardi Gras Ball today as a fund-raiser for BARC, The Humane Society and the Hot Pepper Fest.

The Mardi Gras Ball will start at 7 p.m. at the Palestine Civic Center.

“Join us for food, drinks, music and more,” BARC, The Humane Society spokeswoman Cheryle Evans said.

Louisiana jazz and blues band Professor Porkchop and the Dirty Dishes will provide the music. Shreveport native Chris McCaa — who performs as Professor Porkchop, provides the vocals and plays the piano.
