A 23-year-old Palestine man remained in the Anderson County Jail Wednesday after his recent arrest for his involvement in the exchange of photos of a pornographic nature with a 12-year-old girl from Iowa.
According to Sheriff Greg Taylor, the investigation of the case began when the ACSO received reports from an Iowa police department about a girl who had come forward with her parents to report she had sent and received pictures from the suspect on the internet and cell phone.
“Through the investigation, headed by ACSO Investigator Ryan Tolliver, we were able to obtain information involving photos being passed between the two,” the sheriff said. “These were very graphic, sexually explicit photos.”
The suspect, Joshua Ryan Quick, 23, of Palestine was arrested and charged with sexual performance by a child. His bond is set at $175,000.
“It is not conducive for a 23-year-old man to be involved with a 12-year-old girl,” Taylor said.
The sheriff urges anyone else who may have been a victim of Quick's, by means of contact or communication, to contact Tolliver at the ACSO at 903-729-6068.
