Cartmell Home’s Board of Directors has approved plans to begin construction on Phase II of its established master plan for the Cartmell Home Continuum of Care Retirement Community.
Windermere at Cartmell is slated to open in 2014.
“This project takes our organization to a new level as we move forward with plans to serve our seniors,” Cartmell Home CEO Tim Kozik said. “Windermere will be a state-of-the-art assisted living facility. Cartmell will become the first in Palestine to provide a continuum of care to its residents.”
Windermere at Cartmell will be located between South Loop 256 and Cartmell Home. Nestled in the woods along Town Creek, it will be approximately 48,000 square feet covering five acres.
“We are very excited to begin this next phase of growth in our community,” Kozik said. “The residents of Palestine and surrounding areas have provided overwhelming support to our last building project. We are hopeful that this new addition to Cartmell will be as well received. Expect further project and groundbreaking details soon.”
Cartmell Home for Aged is a local, not-for-profit organization serving the Palestine community since 1956.
