An Anderson County man remained in jail Monday afternoon following his arrest Sunday for an incident during which he shot a firearm through his wife's vehicle.
According to Sheriff Greg Taylor, deputies Jeff Taylor and Charles Connor responded to a disturbance call (with shots fired) at about 8:15 a.m. Sunday on Anderson County Road 4183, located in north Anderson County.
“A couple got into an argument about why the wife stayed away from home for so long,” the sheriff said. “She got in her car and tried to leave when the suspect fired a 9-mm handgun at the vehicle.
“The bullet was a through and through — going through the back and front windshields,” according to the sheriff.
The suspect, Brian Gene Dunson, 41, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon – family violence, with the bond set at $100,000.
“Fortunately no one was injured,” the sheriff said.
