PALESTINE —

Christmas is not just for children and that's why the Anderson County's Adult Protective Services is asking the community to help with a special angel tree that will provide Christmas gifts for the elderly and disabled.

“Once again, we have a special opportunity to help the elderly and disabled of Anderson County by sponsoring individuals. An angel tree is located at the Palestine City Hall — the water department — where you can pick up an ornament with suggested needs for the elderly and disabled in our area,” said APS Supervisor Kelly Curley. “The community's support last year was wonderful. Your participation, care and support will make a difference in the lives of these individuals who may not have anyone else.”

Wrapped gifts need to be returned no later than Wednesday, Dec. 18, but earlier delivery is preferred. The gifts will be distributed to the sponsored individual by Anderson County Adult Protective Services. Drop off locations will be at Palestine City Hall, 504 Queen St., and Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, 330 E. Spring St Suite B.
