ACSO seeking sexual assault suspect

Anderson County Sheriff Office officials are seeking the public's help in locating a suspect involved in a sexual assault of a child case.

Suspect Justin Allen Rose, 24, is being sought by law enforcement for allegedly forcing himself upon a 15-year-old female at a county residence earlier this week.

“The two were at a house together with other people,” Anderson County Sheriff Greg Taylor reported on Thursday. “They were put in a situation where they were left alone and the suspect was reported to have forced himself upon the girl.”

The girl made an outcry to the Palestine Police Department on Monday, who passed the case to the ACSO as it took place just outside of the Palestine city limits, the sheriff said.

ACSO Investigator Brian Chason followed up on the case, obtaining a warrant for Rose's arrest on Tuesday. No bond has been set on the warrant as yet, the sheriff said.

“The suspect remains elusive so far,” Taylor said. “He is from this area, but he really doesn't have a permanent residence. He is sort of a drifter, but he stays mostly in town, so we are actively searching for him.”

The sheriff is hoping for help from the public in locating the suspect, reporting that tips leading to his arrest could be eligible for a reward up to $1,000 from Anderson County Crime Stoppers. Call 903-729-8477 to leave a tip.

Rose does have a criminal record, the sheriff said, having been jailed for criminal trespass in August 2013 and several other times previously.
