PALESTINE —

Roasted boar, longhorn ram steaks, deer and other assorted game are on the menu for the Wild Game Supper planned Saturday at Tennessee Colony Church.

"Men like to hunt, eat and be outdoors. So we thought this would be a great way for men to fellowship around a campfire, swap fishing stories and eat a good meal,” the Rev. John Wisener said.

The event will be held at 6 p.m. The menu also will include fried fish (catfish, crappie and sand bass).

Lee Evans, pastor at Westlake Baptist Church in Chandler, will be speaking on a “manly topic.” Giveaways and door prizes also are planned.

This event is free and all men are encouraged to attend.

"Men need to be encouraged, affirmed and told they are doing a good job. Men also need to be challenged and motivated. We are praying for revival to come in Anderson County and this may be the spark,” Wisener said. "Jesus fed the 5,000 men with five loaves and three fishes and that event led to many salvations. No reason it can't be done again. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.”

Long Lake Baptist Church and Trinity Church are assisting with the event.

Men will be gathering to cook around 3 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or sit on their tailgates.
