Incumbents keep seats on PISD board

PALESTINE — Three incumbents retained their seats on the Palestine Independent School District’s Board of Trustees, while one retained his seat on the Elkhart Independent School District’s Board of Trustees for another term following the election Saturday.

At Palestine ISD, incumbent Dana Staples gained 356 votes over JoJo Dickerson’s 340 votes to win Place 3. In Place 4, incumbent Rickey Ferguson kept his seat with 418 votes over his opponent, Kenneth R. Jordan’s 261 votes. For Place 5, incumbent Janie Sepulveda collected 429 votes compared to Mitchell W. Jordan’s 267 votes.

At Elkhart ISD, incumbent Steve Ham received 84 votes to opponent Gary McShan’s 43 votes.

All votes for Palestine and Elkhart ISD are unofficial until the ballots have been canvassed at an upcoming school board meeting.
