Pike, Rivers to perform in benefit concert for Frankston family June 28

In order to help the Kummer family, a special fund-raiser has been planned.

The Autumn Kummer Cancer Fund-raiser Concert will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 28 at Frankston High School Auditorium. A love offering will be taken. The public is invited to attend. Two Christian artists will perform — Miles Pike and Casey Rivers.

Pike's unique voice spans five octaves. His first four radio releases have all gone to No. 1 on the Cashbox Magazine and Christian Voice Magazine's Country Gospel charter.

In May 2011, Pike won the “Male Horizon” award at the Country Gospel Music Fan Awards as well as the “Young Excelling Individual” award at the Southern Gospel Music Fan Awards as well as numerous Top Five nominations. For more information about Pike, visit

Rivers, a Lindale native, now calls Nashville home, after becoming the first runner-up a few years ago on the Nashville-based talent television show, “Nashville Star.”

Rivers has appeared with country legends including Kenny Rogers, Loretta Lynn, Neal McCoy, Sara Evans, Jason Aldean, Big and Rich and The Gatlin Brothers, to name a few. He has appeared on the Grand Ole Opry Stage, toured with “Nashville Star,” and the list goes on.

In 2008, Rivers joined and toured with Christian music group, Beyond The Ashes. The group traveled nationwide to more than 200 dates per year. Successes included Top 10 radio singles, a variety of awards and a call to impact the lives of the thousands of fans they sang to.

In mid-2012, God led Rivers into a new adventure. With the support of his family, Rivers returned to his roots as a solo artist.

He has performed numerous times in East Texas and is involved with the ministry Compassion International, a child sponsorship organization striving to release children from poverty, around the globe, in Jesus' name.
