A 27-year-old Montalba man remained in jail Tuesday after being arrested for the assault of two Anderson County Sheriff’s deputies on Sunday.
According to Sheriff Greg Taylor, deputies Mike Mitchell and Jeff Taylor were dispatched to the location of a 911 hang-up call in the 200 block of Anderson County Road 2406 at about 2:15 a.m. on Sunday.
“A mother and son were having an argument,” Taylor said. “Just as deputy Mitchell was getting out of his car, the suspect Kristopher Danielle Miles ran and shoved him into his patrol car.
“He then charged Deputy Taylor, who tasered him.”
The sheriff reported that if a suspect is tasered, then EMS are called to the scene to remove the tasers and check out the victim. Miles, he said, was cleared by EMS before being arrested and taken to jail.
Miles was charged with assault of a public servant, $10,000 bond, and with resisting arrest, another $10,000 bond.
“He has been arrested numerous times,” Sheriff Taylor said. “He has temperament troubles.”
