ACSO seeking "Top Five" suspect

PALESTINE — Anderson County sheriff’s authorities are seeking the public’s help in locating a 29-year-old man whom they describe as having “a lengthy criminal history,” consisting of drug, arson, burglary and other charges.

Anderson County Sheriff Greg Taylor said Friday that his agency is seeking Randall Keith Speed, 29, of Palestine on a trio of bond violations.

During a meeting attended by representatives of multiple Anderson County law enforcement agencies this summer, Speed was selected as one of the county’s “Top Five” burglary suspects.

“This young man (Speed) has been involved in burglaries, he’s also involved in the dope trade,” Taylor said. “He’s definitely a (drug) user and a dealer.”

Speed’s bond violations are related to original charges of possession of a controlled substance 1-to-4 grams, arson and failure to appear, according to Taylor.

“We’ve been actively pursuing him for several weeks now and we just need the public’s help,” the sheriff stated.

The sheriff said Speed has “a lengthy criminal history,” spanning a wide range of offenses.

“You name it,” Taylor said, “he’s done it.”

Anyone providing information leading to Speed’s arrest may be eligible to receive a reward of up to $1,000 from Anderson County Crimestoppers.

Crimestoppers can be contacted by telephoning 903-729-TIPS (8477).
