ACSO seeking armed robbery suspect

PALESTINE —

Anderson County Sheriff Office investigators are seeking the public's help in finding the suspect of an armed robbery that occurred in Cayuga on Saturday.

According to Sheriff Greg Taylor, ACSO officers answered a call for an aggravated robbery at 6:30 a.m. Saturday at the Cayuga General Store, located on U.S. 287 North.

“The cashier was held up at gunpoint by a suspect wearing all black and using a handgun,” the sheriff said. “An undisclosed amount of money was taken. We are fairly certain it was a male, but are unsure of his race — he was well covered.”

No one else was in the store at the time of the robbery.

“We have no real leads on the case and are seeking help from the public to identify the suspect,” Taylor said. “Cameras in the store let us see the suspect, but he was covered very well.

“We are just glad no one was hurt.”

Anyone with any information on the case or suspect should call Anderson County Crime Stoppers at 903-729-8477 or ACSO Sgt. Investigator Ryan Tolliver at 903-729-6068.
