The circus is coming!
The Culpepper & Merriweather Circus from Hugo, Okla. will present two shows in Elkhart on Saturday, Oct. 19, thanks to the sponsorship of Keep Elkhart Beautiful.
The performances are planned at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the Elkhart City Park softball field.
Performers will bring the magic of the circus to life in each 90-minute show. The lineup includes an all-star group of performers and entertainers that include: Miss Simone and her amazing single trapeze, Miss Paulina’s proud prancing ponies, The Arlise Troupe on their wild and crazy unicycles, Natilie’s American Eskimo Escapades, The Ayala’s with unforgettable foot juggling, the performing Jungle Cats, Soloman, Delilah and Francis and more.
The midway box office will open at 1 p.m. on the day of the circus with pony rides, moon bounce and concessions.
The circus acts will be complimented with original music written by Matt Margucci from Los Angeles.
“Our performers are sure to amaze, delight and entertain the audience members of all ages beyond your wildest imagination. The costumes alone are certainly of Las Vegas quality,” a news release said.
Between 9:30 and 10 p.m. Oct. 19, watch the raising of the big top, then stay for a free tour. This presentation offers a unique face-to-face opportunity for families, schools, and interested community members to meet and learn all about the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus family and includes a walking tour of the circus grounds.
“Enjoy the magic and tradition of the American circus with your family and create memories that will last a lifetime,” a news release said. “Learn interesting facts about our performers, the history of our show and the different species of animals in our circus family. In this presentation we will also address topics such as hygiene, grooming and the veterinary care all of our animals receive,” a news release said.
