An Anderson County man remained in jail Friday after his Thursday arrest on the charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child involving a 13-year-old boy.
According to Anderson County Sheriff Greg Taylor, the ACSO received an outcry early Thursday morning from the boy, stating that the suspect, 18-year-old Justin Lewis McCreary, of Palestine, was forcing him to do things of a sexual nature.
“He made an outcry to his family and then a medical outcry,” the sheriff said. “Later on Thursday, Sgt. Brian Tolliver got a warrant and arrested McCreary, who is still in jail on a $100,000 bond.”
Taylor stated that the acts had allegedly been taking place since April, several times a week. The victim and the suspect were acquaintances.
“This is a 13-year-old boy. He was terrified — afraid to tell anyone what had been going on,” he said. “The actors often use fear to keep the victims from reporting it, but as in this case, the victim ‘snapped’ and came forward.
“Any child who is allegedly molested, it can cause severe physical and emotional trauma,” he added. “This is a very heinous crime.”
The case is still being investigated, Taylor said, and while he hoped there are no more victims, he asked that anyone else involved to come forward.
“It troubles me, that someone this age (18) is involved in this,” he said. “He is already showing characteristics of a pedophile.
“It is a sad deal.”
