PALESTINE — Women of Virtue Pageants, a Christian-based pageant for girls ages 5-18, will host the Fourth Annual Miss Palestine Area Lady of Standards Pageant Saturday.

The pageant will start at 4 p.m. at the Palestine Senior Activity Center, 200 N. Church St.

“This year promises to be an evening of praise and purpose as Women of Virtue praises the 12 beautiful contestants, the parents and most of all God,” pageant director Kristi Johnson said. “The primary focus of the pageant is to focus on the importance of understanding real spiritual beauty.”

Here is a list of contestants in each division:

• Little Miss Division (ages 5-8) — Neriah Davis, Jorgie Kincade and Deshaila Murray

• Jr. Miss Division (ages 9-12) — Marcetta  Dedrick, Dominique Lacy, D’Shantie Sadler and Cecelia Woodall

• Miss Division (13 to 18) — Tykimia Beavers, Ka’Miya Caston, Breanna Jackson, Rasmine Lyles and Shun’Drea Thompson.

“Each contestant will showcase a talent, compete in private interview and Sunday Best categories. Each lady will receive a participation trophy and a shot at the first-place prize of cash, a photo shoot with Lee Loveless Photography and a dance scholarship to Steps of Faith Dance Center,” Johnson said.

The title sponsor for this year’s pageant is Ernie Williams Allstate Insurance Agency.

Advance tickets are $5 and available at Shep’s Bar-B-Q in Palestine. Tickets at the door will be $7 each.

“There is something for the whole family including awesome praise and worship and a few surprises for the audience members,” Johnson said.
