Sanderson Farms to hold job fair

PALESTINE —

Sanderson Farms, which plans to build three facilities in the area, will hold a job fair in December for several salaried management positions.

The job fair will be from 12:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4 at the Palestine Workforce Education Center campus located in the Palestine Mall.

Sanderson Farms is looking to fill 35 to 50 salaried management positions. These positions will range from department supervisors and accounting staff to human resources and quality control managers.

“Sanderson Farms and East Texas Workforce Solutions representatives will be on site looking for qualified individuals to staff the new facilities,” said Greg Laudadio, Assistant Director of Economic Development for the City of Palestine. “Bring your resume and be prepared to interview."

Sanderson Farms plans to build three facilities in the area, two of which will be located in Anderson County and one in Freestone County. The company will invest approximately $92 million on the construction of a hatchery and processing plant that will be located in Anderson County and an additional $32 million on the feed mill in Freestone County. Once the hatchery and processing plant is open, the company expects to employ up to 1,000 people.
