'Ladies Night Out' set Thursday

PALESTINE —

Palestine area women are invited to a Ladies Night Out event this Thursday that will include food demonstrations, food and wine sampling, fashion show, spa treatments and more — all for a good cause.

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Paint Palestine Pink and Sabor a Pasion are working together to host the event from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Sabor a Pasion Country House and Bistro in Palestine. A portion of proceeds from the event will benefit Paint Palestine Pink to help provide mammograms to local residents in Anderson County who are in need.

“Ladies, you are due for a night out! Call all of your friends, and join us for an evening at Sabor a Pasion filled with food demos, food and wine sampling, shopping, massages/spa treatments, good music and fun times with your friends,” County Extension Agent Holly Black said.

The evening will include food demonstrations prepared by Executive Chef Simon Webster of Sabor a Pasion; Christine Gardner, Food Editor for the Tyler Morning Telegraph; and local Family & Consumer Sciences Extension Agents.

Food demonstrations will highlight recipes that are easy to prepare and fit into a healthy meal plan.

Samples of the recipes will be available for tasting by the entire audience, as well as tasting with some of the food vendors. Each participant will receive a flash drive copy of the 52-page “Dinner Tonight” Cookbook.

Additional highlights of the evening will be the fashion show, massage chairs, spa treatments and merchandise available for purchase all provided by Jamie’s Therapeutic Touch. Granny Muffin Wines will provide the wine and classic guitarist Alex Graser will provide the music.

With your ticket for admission, you will be entered in the door prize drawings for the evening. Door prizes have been collected from local merchants supporting the function.
