A Palestine woman was injured in a two-vehicle wreck Wednesday on FM 315.

The wreck occurred when a 2008 black Dodge pickup driven by Jason Roper, 27, of Corsicana, was traveling southbound on FM 315.

“He was coming around the corner probably a little too fast and went off to the right side of the road into the grass portion and then overcorrected,” Hallock said. “He began sliding sideways across both ways where the second unit, a 2003 red Chevrolet Silverado pickup was traveling northbound.”

Roper was cited for failure to control speed.

The front right side of the red Chevrolet Silverado took the brunt of the damage in the wreck, with both vehicles ending up off the road. The wreck pinned in front seat passenger Britany Hall, 21, of Palestine, in the red Chevrolet Silverado. Members of the Elmwood and Montalba volunteer fire department were able to get Hall out of the vehicle with extraction tools.

Hall, 21, was life-flighted to Tyler by the Trinity Mother Frances Flight for Life helicopter with an apparent broken leg, Hallock said.

Two children, a 6-week-old male and a 1-year-old male, in the back of the red Chevrolet Silverado, were secured in car seats. They were taken by ambulance to Palestine Regional Medical Center to be evaluated, but did not appear to be injured, Hallock said.

Driving the red Chevrolet Silverado was Jonathan Perry, 22, of Palestine.

The wreck occurred in the 5200 block of FM 315 and was reported at 1:24 p.m.
