Whether you like your bird deep-fried and coated in hot sauce, or snug in a tortilla with beans, cheese and all the trimmings, there’s a new place in town looking to cater to every craving — including the one to watch 'em play on a 6-by-10 foot TV screen.
Farris' Texas Wings & Wraps was a longtime dream for owner Richard Farris, who envisioned an establishment where people could come day or night to watch the game, and enjoy the best in food, drinks and general atmosphere.
Farris said he wanted to merge his love for bigger-city burrito and hot wings chains with a sports bar, but shake it up by using only fresh ingredients, according to a special house recipe — “mom-and-pop style,” he said.
“I took two concepts of entities,” Farris said, “that would never come to Palestine because we're not big enough — but to me, I see the potential. I see people who work here, live here, who need a place to go. So I took my flavors and made it the way I wanted to, and merged the two concepts.”
The title pretty much says it all, as Farris' Texas Wings & Wraps serves just that, as well as other fare, from chips and queso to sweet potato fries — all whipped up from scratch.
“All my marinades for my meats, from the queso to the pico to the salsa — in all my recipes, everything is from scratch,” Farris said. “I'm out there picking the best flavors for my wings, I'm searching high and low. I'm not putting them on my menu until I have approved it.”
Additionally, Farris noted the restaurant is laid out in an open format, where diners can see the food being prepared in front of them.
