Have you ever dreamed of becoming an artist?
The Palestine Public Library will offer a special “Paint and Take” class taught by artist Barbara Eaton on Thursday, Jan. 31.
“She will teach us how to create art with acrylic paints in about two hours, and then you get to take it home,” Adult Services/Acquisitions Librarian Ana Sanchez said.
This project is funded by the PEARL Project, which is sponsored by the University of North Texas. The purpose of the grant is to help fund programs for adults in rural communities.
“This is why it is an adults-only program and you must reserve your spot in advance,” Sanchez said.
There are two different times open for this class. The first will run from noon to 2 p.m. and the second one from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The same painting will be created at both times.
“If you want to see a sample of what you will be painting, come by the library,” Sanchez said.
Those who plan to take the class are asked not to be late. All materials will be provided and previous painting experience is not required.
The program is free to the first 40 people who sign up. Call 903-729-4121 to register or go to the website at www.youseemore.com/palestine or check out the library on Twitter or Facebook for more information.
