Elkhart’s Farrow named All-State again

For the second straight year, Elkhart’s Tyler Farrow earned All-State honors as the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association team was announced last week.
Cayuga also had a pair of All-State selections — Gunnar Thompson and Cory Perry.
Farrow, a Class 2A first-team all-state first baseman selection, hit .538 this season with five home runs. Farrow finished his high school career Saturday playing in the THSBCA All-Star game in Round Rock.
Thompson, a sophomore, was named to the Class A All-State first team as a pitcher. The left hander was 8-3 on the season and he led the state with 144 strikeouts in 60.2 innings pitched. He had a 1.25 ERA and allowed only nine earned runs this season.
Perry, a senior, was named to the Class A All-State third team as a catcher. Perry hit .569 this season with one home run, 16 doubles and three triples. He drove in 35 runs, scored 21 runs and stole 14 bases.
Grapeland High School’s Jonathan Dancer received THSBCA Academica All State honors at thet 1A level.
