The Palestine 12-year-old All-Star baseball team is headed to the Dixie Baseball State Tournament.
The team finished second in the district playoffs recently, losing to Henderson 7-6 in the championship game. The second place finish secured the team a spot in the state tournament, scheduled for July 11-17 at East Montgomery County Sports Complex near Houston.
Team members include Landon Atchley, Sam Carlisle, Cody Domitrovich, Kobe Doolittle, Chico Herod, Jason Johnson, Griffin Jones, Ryan Jones, Ian Lively, Juan Perez, Cal Russell and Ryan Zavala. Coaches include head coach Keith Russell and assistants Craig Jones and Jay Lively.
