— Cayuga tops Normangee in three

NORMANGEE — The Cayuga Ladycats got back on the winning track with a three-game sweep of Normangee, 25-9, 25-21, 25-15, Tuesday night.
Jamie Hope had 15 kills and five blocks; Kenyetta Clewis had 10 kills and four aces; Katy Sharp had three kills and two blocks; Jade Kelley had six kills; Brooke Dublin had two aces and 17 service points and Kathryn Drinkard had 26 assists.
The Ladycats (7-3) will play in the Eustace Tournament starting Thursday.
The freshman squad lost to Normangee 25-13, 26-24 as did the JV team, 25-15, 25-14.

Elkhart tops Corrigan

ELKHART — In volleyball action last week, Elkhart swept Corrigan 25-20, 25-18, 26-24.
Chasity Holliday led the Lady Elks with 15 kills. Alice Davis and Devan Cooksey also had solid games for Elkhart.

Oakwood opens with three wins

OAKWOOD — The Oakwood volleyball team opened the season last week with three wins.
Oakwood sept Groveton in three games then topped Mildred and Hubbard in a dual match.
Against Mildred, Oakwood won in five games, 22-25, 25-14, 25-20, 22-25, 15-12.
In the win, Lisa Stevens had 20 assists, Tori Tucker had 19 assists and Tiara Tucker had 14 assists. Brittney Sigford had 13 assists, 10 kills and six aces. Felicia Williams had six kills.
Against Hubbard, Oakwood won in four games, 29-27, 25-23, 22-25, 25-15. Tiara Tucker had 19 assists, three kills and two blocks. Tori Tucker had 15 assists, six kills and four blocks; Stevens had eight blocks and nine kills and Sigford had seven kills and three blocks.
