Savage leads Oakwood to win

OAKWOOD — Michael Savage scored five touchdowns and piled up 269 yards rushing on just nine carries, helping Oakwood to a 54-22 rout of Apple Springs.

Savage scored on runs of 50, 6, 41, 42 and 30 yards for Oakwood.

In all, the Panthers ran for 319 yards on only 17 attempts.

Geral Williams added 46 rushing yards on five carries and scored on a 35-yard run.

The win moved Oakwood to 5-1 and 1-0 in District 14, Six-Man Division I, for the season.

On defense, Williams had 12.5 tackles and Savage had 10.5 tackles.

Oakwood will face Trinidad next week in another district match up.
