Cayuga’s Shead has huge night in Wildcat win

Running back goes for over 300 yards and six TDs in first half

BETHEL — Cayuga junior running back Traylon Shead rushed for over 300 yards and six touchdowns — all in the first half.

The Wildcats (3-0, 6-1) stayed perfect in district play with a 53-0 win over Cross Roads as Shead had a career night.

“It was something fun to watch tonight,” Cayuga head coach Tommy Allison said. “He ran extremely hard tonight and put on quite a show.”

Shead rushed for 321 yards on 11 carries in the first half as the Wildcats built a 53-0 lead. Shead has rushed for 1,767 yards and 28 touchdowns on the season.

Shead scored four touchdowns in the first half on runs of 10, 17, 38 and 25 yards.

Cayuga added a 43-yard pass from Broc January to Malcome Kennedy to take a 33-0 lead in the first quarter.

Shead added touchdown runs of 25 and 94 yards in the second quarter. The Wildcats finished the second quarter with a 45-yard interception return by January.
