Cayuga volleyball tops Bosqueville

WEST — The Cayuga volleyball team rebounded from a first-game loss to defeat Bosqueville in four games Saturday afternoon in the Class A-Region IV area round of the playoffs.

Cayuga (34-8) advances to the regional quarterfinals for a rematch against Milano. Cayuga defeated Milano in three games in last year’s regional quarterfinal game. The quarterfinal game will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Groesbeck High School.

On Saturday, Cayuga lost the first game 26-24 but then stormed back to win three straight, 25-17, 25-16, 25-20.

Shawnta Knox had a team-high 16 kills and six blocks. Lexus Mack added 15 kills and Shelby Henry had eight kills and six blocks. Chantel Walker had three kills and three digs.

Sammy Wood led the way in the serving department with three aces to go along with seven digs.

Brooke Dublin had 35 assists, two aces and four digs and Chelsea Brown had a team-high 16 digs.
