Staff Reports
Palestine Herald-Press

Arp 47, Frankston 26

Despite getting a big night from running back Caleb Williams, the Frankston Indians couldn't overcome the Arp Tigers Friday in Arp.

Williams ran for more than 160 yards on 18 carries, but it wasn't enough to push Frankston past the Tigers, who scored 34 of the game's final 47 points.

Frankston led in the second quarter, 13-12, but the Tigers took a 24-20 lead into halftime and never looked back.

Frankston (2-4, 1-1) host Hawkins Friday, while Arp travels to Union Grove.

Crockett 34, Elkhart 21

Elkhart's bid to open up District 11-2A, Division I play with a victory fell short Friday, as the Elks fell to Crockett.

The loss puts Elkhart in a big hole, with district favorites Franklin and Teague up next on the schedule.

The Elks (1-5, 0-1) welcome in Franklin — which dismantled Westwood Friday, 82-35 — next Friday. Crockett hosts Trinity.

San Augustine 68, Grapeland 20

San Augustine cruised to a district-opening win over Grapeland Friday, 68-20, in San Augustiner.

The loss drops the Sandies to 1-5 overall and 0-1 in district play, with Cushing coming to Grapeland Friday. Cushing was routed by Alto, 61-0, to open district play.
