The 9- and 10-year-old Palestine Outlaws continued a strong showing at the Dixie League State Regional in New Caney Monday night.
The Outlaws started off the tournament against Center with a 10-3 victory. Zerrick Warren, Jacob Brown and Aidan Seat all recorded multiple-hit games in the win.
The second matchup for the Outlaws pitted them against Splendora. Palestine lost 5-4, but would later find out it had a chance at redemption. Zerrick Warren and Caden Mullican manned the mound for the Outlaws, and the two combined for five strikeouts, as well as the five unearned runs.
Following the loss to Splendora, Palestine faced Huntington on Monday night. The Outlaws put together a solid outing and beat their opponents 6-4. Kegan Magee pitched a complete game, and he finished with five strikeouts.
With the win, the Outlaws’ chance at redemption was awarded. Palestine played Splendora at 6 p.m. Tuesday, however, results weren’t available at press time.
