BREAKING NEWS: Josh Hamilton agrees to contract with Los Angeles Angels

Numerous media outlets are reporting that centerfielder Josh Hamitlon, a mainstay in the Texas Rangers' lineup during the club's return to promience, has agreed to a five-year contract with the Los Angeles Angels.

FOXSportsSouthwest.com reported that Hamilton's agent, Mike Moye, called and told Rangers' general manager Jon Daniels about the decision around lunchtime, and Daniels told reporters that the Rangers did not get a chance to match the offer.

Hamilton is the third major player to depart the Rangers this offseason, after catcher Mike Napoli signed with Boston and all-time hits leader Michael Young was traded to Philadelphia.

The Rangers also missed out on signing star pitcher Zack Greinke, who agreed to a record-setting deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
