In a game that started off close for the Wildcats, it turned ugly quickly as Palestine fell against Mexia, 79-46.
The Wildcats (10-11, 1-1) started off battling for points against the Mexia Blackcats in the first quarter, and kept up pretty well. Palestine scored 10 points in the first, which was just 10 less than Mexia scored.
The second quarter is where the Blackcats started to pull away. Mexia outscored Palestine 27-18. The 47-28 deficit at halftime would prove to be too large and in the third quarter, Mexia kept applying the pressure by outscoring the Wildcats 19-12.
The fourth and final quarter was the last chance for the Wildcats, and once again, Mexia proved to be the better team on Tuesday night as they went on to outscore the Wildcats 13-6 in the final frame and ultimately win by 33.
Leading scorers for Palestine included Sheldon Watson with nine points, C.J. Barrett with eight points and Dakedrick McMorris with eight.
