H.S. Football: MVP Durham leads Oakwood all-district honorees

— After winning a third-straight district title, it comes as no surprise that the Oakwood football team cleaned up in the District 16, Division I all-district teams announced this week.

The Panthers had six players honored either as a superlative winner or a first team player, led by do-it-all junior Damiyne Durham, who took home the district’s Most Valuable Player award.

Durham led the Panthers with 1,810 yards of total offense, accounting for 53 touchdowns along the way.

He also had 111 tackles, six sacks and nine interceptions — three of which he returned for touchdowns.

On the offensive first team, Oakwood’s Bryson Randle earned a running back spot, while Shaquille Caldwell was named a receiver.

Joining them were tight end Dominique Johnson and fullback Jacquez Anderson, who both also earned first team honors.

Anderson and Randle both also earned first team defensive honors, with Anderson named the first team noseguard and Randle a first team cornerback.

Louis Collins also got a first team nod, earning defensive utility player honors. He was also named the second team center on offense.

Also earning second team honors was defensive lineman Christian Brummett.
