H.S. Track and Field: Elkhart, Palestine win track meets

PALESTINE — The Elkhart Lady Elks and Palestine Wildcats both won their track meets this past week and both look to keep their momentum heading forward.

For the Lady Elks, here are the results of their meet:

High Jump-     Ruth Camp placed second with a jump of 4-feet-10-inches

Long Jump-     Hannah Salazar placed first with a jump of 15-feet-2-inches

Paige Fillmore, placed fifth with a jump of 14-feet-5.5-inches

Shot Put- Brooklyn Facklam placed fifth with a throw of 29-feet-3-inches

Discus- Brooklyn Facklam placed third with a throw of 88-feet-3-inches

Paige Huff placed fourth with a throw of 76-feet-10-inchess

3200M Run-     Melanie Barnett placed second    

Anna Clark placed third

Jennifer Jones placed sixth

4X100 Relay- Lauren Brown, Naomi Williams, Aubrey Cook, Hannah Salazar placed fifth

800 Run- Viri Salsana placed third

Paige Huff placed fourth

100 Hurdles-    Paige Fillmore placed second

Kayla Johnson placed fourth

Kimber Douglas placed sixth

100 Dash- Monique Ashford placed second

4x200 Relay-    Paige Huff, Kimber Douglas, Aubrey Cook, Hannah Salazar placed fourth

400M Dash-    Joli Ballew placed third

Brooklyn Facklam placed fourth

300M Hurdles- Paige Fillmore placed first

Kayla Johnson placed third

200M Dash-     Monique Ashford placed first

1600M Run-    Anna Clark placed second

Melanie Barnett placed third

Viri Saldana placed fifth

1600M Relay- Douglas, Johnson, Ashford, Fillmore placed second

The Lady Elks will hit the main stage again on Thursday as they travel to Leon for their next meet.

For the Palestine Wildcats, the boys scored a total of 233 points winning the track meet by 100 points. Here’s a look at their results:
