Cayuga’s Keshawn Jackson and Cota Wilburn helped lead the Wildcats to its second win of the season Friday, scoring seven of the team’s nine touchdowns in a 62-18 win against Mt. Enterprise.
Jackson rushed 53 yards for five touchdowns, with Wilburn making his two scoring plays count — totaling 108 rushing yards during the game. Cayuga kicker Stephen Slater helped bring things home as well, with successful kicks in all but two attempts.
With 19:34 left in the first quarter, Jackson scored a 20-yard touchdown, and at 6:65 and 3:53 repeated the effort with two 5-yards TDs, with John Vickery rushing three yards for a 2-point conversion for Cayuga.
Jackson shared the wealth in the second quarter. After his 23-yard TD at 10:08, teammate Payton Wallace rushed for a 17-yard touchdown at 6:19 left in the second.
Wilburn highlighted the second quarter with a 69-yard touchdown at 3:17 on the clock, about three minutes before Mt. Enterprise gained its first touchdown of the game at 16 seconds left with a one-yard TD by Justin Johnson.
Cayuga’s John Venable began the second half of the game with a 3-yard TD at 11:18 in the third. Jackson followed his lead with a 3-yarder at 2:38.
Mount Enterprise attempted to gain some control in the third, rushing 65-yards for a touchdown at 1:29 on the clock, making the score 55-12, Cayuga.
Wilburn scored his second TD of the night in the fourth quarter, rushing 39 yards at 9:40 remaining. Mt. Enterprise’s Josh Leadon wrapped up the game with a 46-yarder at 6:03 left in the game.
