(Continued)

CAYUGA 83, Cross Roads 17

Madison Spears outscored Cross Roads on her own, and Molly Griffey fell two points short as the Cayuga girls’ basketball team rolled over Cross Roads 83-17.

Shelby Luce added 10 points, while Danielle Anderson and Madyson Gunnels  each added nine. Anderson finished with 14 rebounds, as did Shawnta Knox, who scored seven points.

Cayuga (17-10, 6-3) hosts Wortham today in a big matchup to determine playoff standings in 18-A, Division I. Currently, both teams have locked up playoff spots and are tied for second-place. The winner of tonight’s game finishes second, with the loser finishing third.

SLOCUM 76, Leon 32

Landry Lane scored 20 points, 18 of which came in the first half, and the eighth-ranked Slocum girls basketball team rolled over Leon Friday, 76-32.

Jordan Ives and Kelsee Webb each had 13 points in the win, while Brice Sizemore had 10 for the Lady Mustangs (27-2, 8-1), who travel to Grapeland today for the regular-season finale.

A win by Slocum tonight secures no worse than a tie for first-place in District 20-A, Division I with rival Lovelady. The Lady Lions play Leon at home today.

Games tonight begin at 4 p.m.
