After leading her team to its third-straight state tournament appearance, Cayuga senior Shawnta Knox was honored by the Texas Girls’ Coaches Association (TGCA) for a third-straight time.
Knox again landed on the TGCA all-state volleyball team for Class 1A, joining her teammate, junior Danielle Anderson, on the squad.
It’s the first such honor for Anderson, who previously landed on the Texas Sportswriters Association (TXSWA) all-state teams the last two years.
Knox finished second for Cayuga on the season with 426 kills, while tallying 156 aces and 255 digs.
Anderson led the Cayuga attack with 525 kills and had 73 aces, 53 blocks and 133 digs.
The duo led the Ladycats to the state tournament for a third-straight year, and helped the program complete its fifth-straight unbeaten district season. The Ladycats dropped only one game in a match during district play.
