H.S. Basketball: Oakwood's Damiyne Durham scores 34 points to lead them to a victory against Westwood
In a battle of two Dogwood Circle teams, Oakwood prevailed as the better Panther team for the night. Lead scorer and Baylor commit Damiyne Durham led the way for the Oakwood Panthers on Tuesday night in the varsity boys game against the Westwood Panthers in a 91-64 affair.
H.S. Basketball: Cayuga Ladycats move on to 3-1 for the season after beating Buffalo 58-35
Madison Spears led the Ladycats in a 58-35 victory against Buffalo on Tuesday night in Cayuga. Spears’ 33 points led the Ladycats, but she didn’t do it on her own. Ally Jenkins finished the night with nine points also and Cayuga’s defense held strong throughout the night especially in the third quarter.

The Dogwood Circle's Westwood and Elkhart volleyball teams dominated the 19-2A district selections for All-District this year.

The state of Texas is making big changes to its UIL classification system, adding another conference to list and eliminating (or renaming) the six-man football division as Class 1A.
H.S. Basketball: Grapeland Sandiettes dominate Lady Elks from Elkhart, 58-21
When a single player scores 33 points and has 12 rebounds, it’s hard to imagine the team will lose.
Such was the case on Monday when the Grapeland Sandiettes faced the Elkhart Lady Elks and achieved a 58-21 blowout win for Grapeland.
H.S. Basketball: Westwood wins its first basketball game of the season (Boys)
The Westwood Panthers boys basketball squad won its first game of the season on Friday night against the Wills Point Tigers, 59-46.
Westwood, who recently got back junior Damontrey House, went on a tear at Wills Point as House finished second on the team in points with 13.
H.S. Basketball: Slocum's girls squad is turning out to be exactly what people thought in preseason
The Slocum Lady Mustangs (5-1) faced District 3A Pollok Central HS at the Slocum HS for Slocum's homecoming game in which the Lady Mustangs won, 48-39.
Central took the tip off and quickly scored the first two points. Slocum responded with 10-straight points to take a 10-2 lead. Central's defense picked up and held Slocum to five points while Central added eight to their side. The first quarter score was 15-10 for Slocum with two minutes left in the quarter.
H.S. Basketball: Westwood and Cayuga battled it out on the hardwood on Friday night
The Westwood Lady Panthers and the Cayuga Ladycats squared off on Friday night in a Dogwood Circle girls basketball showdown.
The game ended in a 51-46 victory for the Lady Panthers, but the game wasn’t close to being decided until the final minutes.
H.S. Football: Roger Mays reassigned at Westwood High School (UPDATED)
After three years of coaching and being athletic director the Westwood Panthers, Roger Mays has been reassigned.
In his first year at Westwood, Mays came into an interesting situation. The previous coach went 0-6 before being reassigned and Mays was brought in to clean up the mess. The Panthers were desperate for a better year the next season after the 0-10 record that season.
