Neches ISD School Happenings for 3-4-07

Staff Reports
The Palestine Herald

Second Grade — Students in Mrs. Sekula’s second-grade class each made a model of the solar system. This was a highlight of their science unit.

Fourth Grade — The fourth graders just completed their writing TAKS test. All of the students tried really hard and gave it their all. Their teacher is very proud of them. The class celebrated the end of the test with a fruit tray and fruit drinks brought by Lisa Currie.

The fourth grade would like to thank Ms. Currie for everything that she does for our class!

Mrs. Sloan’s Classes — Mrs. Sloan’s classes have been celebrating Black History Month. They learned about important people such as Martin Luther King Jr., Harriet Tubman and Ruby Bridges, among others. Some lively discussions were held about how society was before the Civil Rights movement and how it is now.

Mrs. Sloan’s classes were pleased to have a guest speaker from the Crisis Center come to speak to us about bullying. We would like to thank Julie Pharr for spending the day with us.
