Vernon Eugene Robertson

Services for Vernon Eugene Robertson, 70, of Athens were at 11 a.m. today at Bailey & Foster Chapel in Palestine with the Rev. Jesse Callaway officiating. Burial followed in Roselawn Park. Arrangements were under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.

Mr. Robertson died Monday at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler.

He was born May 22, 1938 in Malakoff to Duncan Bedford and Opal Rhumell Cason Robertson.

Mr. Robertson was a truck driver and had been employed with Summerall Distributors.

He was preceded in death by his mother; and a sister, Bettye Mosley.

Mr. Robertson is survived by his father, Duncan Robertson of Palestine; daughters, Paula Rudy and husband Paul of Whitehouse, and Shannan Robertson of Austin; sons, Rex Robertson and wife Renee of Nevada, Dan Robertson and wife Larissa of Palestine, and Joe Robertson of Kilgore; sisters, Judye Pardue and husband Don, Nancye Pope and husband David, and Sammye Martin and husband John, all of Palestine; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
