Jack Armstrong, 71, passed away at his home in Elkhart, on Feb. 7, 2007. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, four children and spouses, 10 grandchildren, one sister and sister-in-law. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and life-long friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother.
The Lord has called home a uniquely humble servant. Included among his earthly accomplishments are 50 years of Christian ministry, Regent and Trustee of Dallas Christian College, original planning committee for North Harris County College, original manager of Tanglewood Christian Camp.
However, the true strength of his ministry and life's work lay in his steadfast service to others. Unerring in his faith and love for Christ, his life was the testimony of an humble, consecrated man of God. “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
We, his family, will tenderly mourn his absence, but know we'll be together again. We rejoice in his freedom from pain, and in his presence with the Lord.
“Well done, thou good and faithful servant!”
A memorial service will be held at Aldine Christian Church, 2233 Aldine Mail Rt., Houston, at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Johnson Bible College in Knoxville, Tenn.
