Edward R. Wesson
Services for Edward Ray Wesson, 71, of Palestine, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Land of Memory Cemetery under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory.
Mr. Wesson died Saturday morning at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 30, 1938, in Jacksboro, Texas to James and Margaret Ray Wesson. He had lived in Palestine since 1958 and was a member of the Westside Assembly of God Church. Mr. Wesson had been co-owner and operator with A&L Hot Oil Company and had worked with several other oil field companies for many years.
Mr. Wesson was preceded in death by his parents and son, William “Bill” Wesson in 2008.
Mr. Wesson is survived by his wife of 52 years, Elsie Wesson of Palestine; two sons, Lonnie and wife Vickie Wesson of Palestine and James “Junior” and wife Debora Wesson of Palestine; daughter, Cindy Case of Caldwell; sister-in-law, Rebekah Ann Lee of Palestine; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Thomas, Jason Davis, James Wesson Jr., Russell Wesson, Travis Wesson, Chance Wesson, Michael Morris, James Morris and Darryl Douglas.
The family will receive condolences from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Westside Assembly of God Church.
