Services for Diana Weatherly, 66, of the Slocum, were at 3 p.m. today at Crockett Road Church of Christ with Dan Manuel officiating. Diana died Saturday in a Tyler hospital after a long illness. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home of Palestine. Graveside services were at the Wilson Cemetery.
Diana was born July 7, 1941 in Houston. She and her husband Ike moved to Hickory Grove in 1987 and rebuilt and lived in Diana’s grandparent’s home. She was a secretary for the Hodge Unit, TDCJ, and retired in 2001. Diana was a Christian and a member of Crockett Road Church of Christ in Palestine. She will be missed by all of her Christian friends and by her family. Diana was truly a beautiful, loving, kind, giving person. A loving wife and great mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Doris and Ralph Stephens; and stepsons, Brandon and Cameron Weatherly.
She is survived by her husband, Ike Weatherly; daughters, Deborah Mesimer and husband Ken of Concord, N.C. and Lisa Mandell of Carlsbad, Calif.; stepson, Aaron Weatherly of Houston; brothers, Randall Stephens and wife Shirley of Flint and Gregg Stephens and wife Allison of Bellaire; grandchildren, Kenneth Mesimer, Emily Mesimer, Erik Kitson and Paul Cordova; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Ken Mesimer, Kenneth Mesimer, Windell Kellum, Bill Milam, Richard King and Jerry Andis.
Visitation with family was from 2 to 3 p.m. today at Crockett Road Church of Christ in Palestine.
Memorials in honor of Diana can be made to Crockett Road Church of Christ in Palestine.
