Erma Mable Conaway

Services for Erma Mable Conaway, 97, of Palestine, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Crawford Cemetery, with the Chaplain Gary Ponder officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.

Mrs. Conaway died Monday at her residence.

She was born July 5, 1910 in Anderson County to Fred William and Mattie Maude Fields Collier.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Conaway was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Boyd Link Conaway, two sons Jay and James Conaway; four sisters, Lou Collier, Nina Collier, Vera Collier and Lela Collier.

She is survived by five daughters, Jean Smith of Palestine, Mary Acker of Rusk, Janette Price and husband Milt of Bullard, Janice Smith and husband Richard of Tyler, Ann Prater and husband Jerry of Gilmer; three sons, Walter Conaway and wife Jean of Longview, Charles Conaway and wife Nell of Palestine, Gary Conaway and wife Pat of Palestine, 17 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.

Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
