Nelma Chandler Jeffus

Services for Nelma Chandler Jeffus, 84, of Palestine will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jason Wilder officiating. Burial will follow at the Antioch Cemetery in Houston County under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory.
Mrs. Jeffus died Friday at Cartmell Home for Aged.
She was born Sept. 20, 1924, in Lovelady in Houston County to Hollie and Ora Butler Chandler.
Mrs. Jeffus had lived in Palestine and Lake Palestine for the past 50 years. She was an active member of Southside Baptist Church. She was retired from Sears after having worked for more than 30 years.
Mrs. Jeffus was preceded in death by her husband, L.F. Jeffus, in 2000; and a great-grandson, Conner Jeffus.
She is survived by two sons, Brad and wife Dollye Jeffus of Palestine and Frank and wife Wilma Jeffus of Nashville, Tenn.; daughter, Sherry and husband P.W. Cotton of Palestine; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Trace, Ken, Cameron and Casey Jeffus, Dustin Quick, Mitch Mayo, Dylan Mayo and Christopher Perry.
The family will receive condolences from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
