Services for Bobby Lee Shipper, 62, of Spring will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Muse Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Chuck Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Muse Cemetery under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home in Palestine.
Mr. Shipper died Monday at his residence.
He was born Jan. 21, 1946, in Slocum, Texas to Jimmy Lee and Imogene Starkey Shipper.
Mr. Shipper was raised in Anderson County and graduated from Slocum High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He had worked 16 years for the railroad, and also worked for the Internal Revenue Service and OSHA. He loved gardening, fishing and camping.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Darryl W. Shipper.
Mr. Shipper is survived by his wife, Joviti Lita Shipper of Spring; sisters, Carolyn Prater and husband James and Linda Musick of Palestine; and several nieces and nephews.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.
