— Memorial services for Lillian Aleen Burke, 78, of Elkhart, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Bailey & Foster Chapel, with the Rev. Lynn Willhite officiating.
Beloved, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother went to the loving arms of God on March 27, 2009, after a long struggle with cancer. On Feb. 27, 2009 she celebrated the 57th anniversary of her 21st birthday.
She is survived by her sister, Vera Mae Teel; children: daughters, Kathy Hampshire and husband Bradley, Jan Stuteville and husband Mitchel, son, Rick Burke. Grandchildren, Toby Magill and wife Angela, Misti Denise Rhone, Richard Lee Gilliam and wife Shannon, Emily Gilliam Vickery and Sarah Burke. Great grandchildren Zakary and Zoey Taylor, Ryan and Lauren Magill, Carter and Cooper Vickery, and an anticipated arrival of two new great grandchildren due in June and November.
She was preceded in death by parents, J.T. Cooksey and Vivian Carnes Cooksey; sisters, Johnnye Faye Glover, Mildred Parker, Patricia Tolley, Betty Cooksey; brothers, Thomas Leon Cooksey, Robert Lee Cooksey, Jackie Ray Cooksey, Richard Allen Cooksey and David Foster Cooksey.
