Austin “A.M.” Vaughn

Memorial services for Austin “A.M.” Vaughn, 82, of Palestine will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Palestine Church of the Nazarene with pastors Daniel and Debra Smith officiating. The family will receive condolence visits at the church from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service

Austin passed peacefully at his home on April 1, following a lengthy illness. He was a retired construction worker, and World War II Navy veteran. Austin was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by his wife, Vivian (Dunnam) Vaughn; sons, Johnnie, Bill and Troy Vaughn; brother, Alfred Vaughn of Palestine; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, cards or other condolences, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Palestine Church of the Nazarene or the J.W. Cantrell Chapter (No. 63) of Disabled American Veterans.
