Graveside services for Calvin Ricks, 81, of Elkhart will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Fields Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Randall Reeves officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine.
Mr. Ricks died Thursday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
He was born May 24, 1927 in Maydelle to Charles and Emma Ricks.
Mr. Ricks was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church. He was a former employee of Knox Glass where he worked for 25 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, W.C. Ricks; two brothers, Doyle Ricks and Henry Ricks; and two sisters.
Mr. Ricks is survived by his wife, Pearl Ricks of Elkhart; daughters, Linda Smalley and husband Bob of Athens, Jannette Johnson of Elkhart, Debra Franklin of Oklahoma City, Okla., Penelope (Penny) Barnes and husband Ron of Pert; sons, Bill Ricks and wife Anita of Bridge City, James Estell and wife Claudia of Cadiz, Ky., and Michael Simmons of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Odath Ricks of Miami, Fla., and Vernon Ricks of Colorado Springs, Colo.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jason Smalley, Jake Smalley, Joe Ricks, Larry Luce, Michael Saldana, Stephen Barnes, Tyler Estell, Roy Smalley and Jack Smalley. Honorary pallbearers will be James Parker, Will Popham, Bob Smalley, James Estell, Ron Barnes, Bill Jurek, Mark Watson, Bill Ricks and Cliff Hayes.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine.
