Graveside services for Ernest Dee Howland, 71, of Palestine will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Chapel of the Air at Land of Memory Cemetery with the Rev. Rick Dees officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.
Mr. Howland died Tuesday at Reunion Plaza in Tyler.
He was born May 13, 1936, in Clarksville to Ernest W. and Mammie G. McDowell Howland. He worked for Sprint and Embarq Phone Company for over 40 years.
Mr. Howland loved fishing, hunting, and other outdoor activities.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary F. Moss.
Mr. Howland include a daughter, Deborah Wilson and her husband of San Angelo; brother, Morris Howland and his wife Peggy of Montalba; sister, Jean Carter of Grapeland; granddaughter, Grace Ann Wilson; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and many friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be his co-workers at Embarq Phone Company.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.
