— Jimmie Lee Wadley Barrett was born Oct. 18, 1936 to Joanna and Willie James Wadley Sr. She was a 1955 graduate of A.M. Story High School in Palestine. She departed this life May 5.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joanna and Willie James Wadley Sr.; husband, Elvester Barrett; sister, Etta Net Mitchell; brothers, Aldon Edgar Wadley and Willie James Wadley Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory: three sons, Robert Wilson (Jerry) of Palestine, Emmanuel Barrett of Dallas and Timothy Barrett (Brenda) of Cedar Hill; two daughters, Myra Lacy of Dallas, and Audrey Barrett of Grand Prairie; eight grandchildren, Rotina Holman, Sherell Pryor, Anthony Sweat, Porchia Barrett, Timothy Barrett, Eugenia Barrett, Markeisha Kemp and Krystal Barrett; four great grandchildren, Tamara Beasley, Omarie Powell, Micheal Beasley Jr. and Pecious; three brothers, five sisters and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Barrett’s wake will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Chapel Hill Freewill Baptist Church, 501 S. Moore in Dallas. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Jasper Baptist Church, 2139 ACR 403 in Palestine.
