— Graveside services for Roger S. Deel Jr., 64, of Palestine will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May, 14, 2008, at Land of Memory Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.
Mr. Deel died Friday, May 9, 2008, at his residence.
He was born March 31, 1944, in Pratt, Kansas to Roger S. Deel Sr. and Kathleen Easley Deel. He was raised in San Antonio and had lived in Palestine since 1993.
Mr. Deel served in the U.S. Air Force and Air Force Reserves until 1970. He was a heavy equipment mechanic and avid lover of animals. He worked 13 years for Anderson County as a shop foreman. He was a Christian having rededicated his life to God.
Mr. Deel is survived by his wife, Keri Deel of Palestine; sons, Roger C. Deel of San Antonio and David Deel and wife Melinda of Manville; daughter, Jana Revilla of Webster; stepson, Justin Quinn and wife Kirstie of Palestine; brother, Glenn Deel and wife Mary Jo of San Antonio; and grandchildren, Amanda, Sarah, Garrett, Morghan and Reagan.
Honorary pallbearers will be J.J. Pickard, Kenney Redd, Tim Milliken, and Randy Watkins.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank George M. Quinn for his deep friendship and devotion.
